Our Village. Our Cows. Our Sacred Promise.
Behind every jar of Vedicरस is a community of dedicated farmers, a herd of beloved cows, and a land that has nurtured the art of ghee-making for millennia.
The Sacred Gir & Sahiwal Cows
Our herd of 80+ purebred Gir and Sahiwal cows are DNA-tested to confirm A2 genetics. They are not milking machines — they are family. Each cow has a name, is never separated from her calf, and grazes freely on natural pastures rich in herbs and grasses. We use only the surplus milk after the calf has had its fill. This is the Vedic way.
The Village Artisans
Our ghee is made by a small team of 12 village women — "Ghee Masters" — who learned this craft from their mothers and grandmothers. They wake before dawn, begin the churning at sunrise, and tend the wood fire through the afternoon. They don't follow a recipe — they follow instinct refined over generations. They know by sound, smell, and color when the ghee is perfect.
The Land
Our farm sits in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat — historically known as the birthplace of Gir cattle and the ancient tradition of Bilona ghee. The soil, the grass, the water, the air — everything here contributes to the unique richness and aroma of Vedicरस. Terroir matters as much in ghee as it does in fine wine.
Fair & Sustainable
Every farmer in our network earns 40% above market rate for their milk. Every cow receives full veterinary care and retires comfortably when she stops producing. We believe that purity begins with fairness — to the land, to the animals, and to the people who make this possible.
